We want your experience at Riverside Health Center to be as smooth as possible. Below you will find everything you need to schedule a visit, understand your coverage, and access your health records.
Scheduling an Appointment
New Patients
New patients are welcome. To establish care with a primary care provider, call our scheduling line Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., or request an appointment through our online patient portal at any time. Please have your insurance card and a photo ID ready. New patient appointments are typically 60 minutes to allow adequate time for a full history and any pressing concerns.
Returning Patients
Established patients can book follow-up and routine visits through the portal or by phone. Same-day sick appointments are available for established patients — call before noon for the best availability. After-hours urgent concerns should be directed to our nurse advice line, which is staffed 24 hours a day.
Insurance & Billing
Accepted Insurance Plans
Riverside Health Center accepts most major commercial insurance plans, Medicare, Medicaid, and CHIP. Our billing team verifies coverage before your appointment and will contact you if there are any questions about your benefits. A full list of accepted payers is available at the front desk or by calling the billing office.
Self-Pay & Sliding Scale
Patients without insurance or with high out-of-pocket costs may qualify for our sliding-scale fee programme, which adjusts charges based on household income and family size. Applications are confidential and processed by our financial counsellors. No patient is turned away for inability to pay.
Health Records & Privacy
Patient Portal
Our secure online portal gives you 24-hour access to lab results, visit summaries, immunisation records, and prescription refill requests. You can also send messages directly to your care team — most messages receive a response within one business day. Portal enrolment instructions are provided at your first visit or can be requested by phone.
Medical Records Requests
To request a copy of your medical records, complete a signed authorisation form available at reception or through the portal. Under HIPAA, we provide records within 30 days of a valid request. Electronic records can often be delivered within 5 business days. There is no charge for records sent directly to another treating provider.
What to Bring to Your Visit
Please bring a valid photo ID, your insurance card, a list of all current medications (including over-the-counter drugs and supplements), and any referral or prior authorisation paperwork. Arriving 15 minutes early for a new-patient visit helps us register you without cutting into your appointment time.
Nurse Advice Line
Registered nurses available 24/7 to help you decide if a symptom needs same-day care, urgent care, or the emergency room.
Pharmacy Partnership
Prescriptions sent electronically to your preferred pharmacy. In-clinic medication dispensing available for select urgent medications.
Patient Advocates
On-staff advocates help with insurance appeals, care coordination, and navigation of specialist referrals.
